as soon as后可接现在分词吗？

假若as soon as引导的时间状语从句与主句具有相同的主语，请问as soon as从句可以变成as soon as引导的分词短语吗？比如下面的句子：
She noticed him as soon as she entered the room. 她一进屋便注意到了他。
As soon as I get through with my work I’ll join you. 我工作一做完就来找你们。
As soon as he entered, he sensed a tension in the air. 他一进去就感到了气氛的紧张。
He hurried to see her as soon as he heard she was ill. 他一听说她病了就立刻赶来看她。
As soon as we opened the front door we could smell the gas. 我们一打开前门，就闻到了煤气的味道。
这些句子可以用as soon as doing sth来改写吗？如改写成：
She noticed him as soon as entering the room.
As soon as getting through with my work I’ll join you.
As soon as entering, he sensed a tension in the air.
He hurried to see her as soon as hearing she was ill.
As soon as opening the front door we could smell the gas.

查《朗文英语语法》第1.58.2节，有如下说明：现在分词可以用于时间连词after, before,since, when 和while之后，但不能用于像as, as soon as, directly,until等连词之后。

由此可见：as soonas后面不能直接跟现在分词。

在外语教学与研究出版社1997年1月第1版《外研社、建宏英汉多功能词典》第1425页有这样的短语和例句：“as soon...as [连]一...就...
The students were quiet as soon as the teacher came in. 老师一进来，学生就安静下来。
我没有见过 as soon as 后面接动名词的例句，所以，我认为：下面这些句子都不可以改成as soon as doing sth：
