问题描述
bring / put an end to 用 bring 和 put 都可以。
但为什么 bring...to an end，不可以把 bring 替换为 put？

其实这个问题不难理解。一个词汇有本意和引申义。掌握了本意，引申义在一定上下文中都可以猜测出来的。
我们看看下面几个动词的本意：pick up, put down 在原地拿起，放下。不牵涉前后左右的位置移动。
bring，take, carry 都表示将某物一个地方携带到另一个地方，强调前后左右的位置移动。bring为朝向说话人的移动，take 为远离说话人的位移，carry 为不以说话人为参照的位移。
那么，当 bring sth to an end 要表示“使……停止、终止”这一引申意义，意味着将一个进行着的活动在时间意义上带到另一个位置（终止点），put 就不能用，因为 put 的本义不表示位移。
当说 put an end to sth 的时候，仍然不牵涉位移，而是将 end 强加于一个进行中的活动，或者该活动本来就已经到了终止点。有该活动噶然而至的意味。
bring an end to sth 则为将 end 带往进行中的活动，使其提前结束或终止，有位移的意味在其中。因此该活动的结束有个过程。

bring / put an end to 用 bring 和 put 都可以。
但为什么 bring...to an end，不可以把 bring 替换为 put？

(2)bring an end to 强调主观因素，使某事结束

你的理解是对的，但语言就是这样的表达习惯，记住就可以了！这样的惯用法很难说出个具体的理由来。比如为什么汉语可以说“建议某人做某事”，但英语却不可以说 suggest sb to do sth，而又可以说 advise sb to do sth。——这也很难给出具体的理由。
