would like可以表示过去吗

问题描述
前面有网友提了一个问题，句子中用了 would like，结合老师的解答，我突然想到一个新的问题：would like 表示“想要”，好像通常是用于现在。如：
I would like to see him. 我想见他。
I would like all my children to go to college. 我希望我的孩子们都上大学。
但可以用于过去情况吗？比如：
She said that he would like to see him. 她说她想见他。
She said that he would like all her children to go to college. 她说她希望她的孩子们都上大学。

would like 即可用于现在也可用于过去。比如下面的句子均是用于过去：
(1) She asked who would like to go. 她问谁愿意去。（《张道真英语语法》）
(2) We mentioned that we would like to see the match and he arranged it for us immediately. 我们说起想看比赛，他马上为我们做了安排。（《朗文英汉双解活用词典》）
(3) We surveyed 500 smokers and found that over three quarters would like to give up. 我们对500名吸烟者进行了调查，发现有超过四分之三的人愿意戒烟。（《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》）

你说的这两个句子完全正确：
She said that he would like to see him. 她说她想见他。

▲would like (to to) 一般指现在说话时的情况。例如：
I would like to have a word with you now. 我现在想同你说句话。
You must tell us exactly what you would like to do. 你必须告诉我们，你到底希望怎么办。
▲would like (to to) 可以用在转述句里面（间接引语），作said, mentioned, told, asked, heard 等的宾语从句，表示过去“想要，希望”。例如：
He said he would like to stay with grandpa. 他说他想和爷爷住在一起。
The teacher said that he would like to choose an assistant among us. 老师说他将要从我们中选一个人作他的助手。
She told me she would like to join us in the discussion. 她告诉我她想和我们一起讨论。
